Family Support Specialist

About the role:

We are seeking a skilled and compassionate Family Support Specialist to join our team. As a specialist in this field, you will work closely with families who have experienced trauma and abuse, providing them with support and resources to help them heal and thrive.

This is a complex and challenging role that requires a high level of skill, experience, and cultural awareness. You will be working with families from diverse backgrounds, including Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people, and must possess the ability to communicate effectively and build strong relationships.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Delivering outreach programs to families and children, facilitating social learning and community connectedness.
  • Engaging with families who require intensive case-management and therapeutic services.
  • Developing case plans in conjunction with families, addressing unmet needs and child protection concerns.

Requirements for the role include a degree in a relevant discipline (allied health, social work, human services) and at least five years' experience providing complex case-management and therapeutic services. The ideal candidate will also possess a current driver's licence, eligibility for a Working With Children Check or professional exemption, and legal ability to work in Australia.
