About the Position

We are looking to welcome a Specialist Family Support Practitioner (Mental Health/Disability) to deliver interventions to families, addressing identified needs and child protection concerns.

  • Level 5 SCHCADS Award.
  • Salary range: $100,784- $105,350 + Superannuation.
  • Government funded until 31 December 2026 with possible extension.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Delivering an outreach model of complex family case-management programs to families, kids and young people.
  • Facilitating social learning, community connectedness, good health and well-being.
  • Engaging families with complex needs, obtaining consent and developing case plans in conjunction with the family which addresses unmet needs and child protection concerns.

About You

  • A degree in a relevant discipline (allied health, social work, human services).
  • At least five (5) years' experience providing complex and intensive case-management and therapeutic services to families, caregivers, young people and children in a child protection framework.
  • Cultural awareness and an understanding of how to communicate and work effectively with families from different socio-economic and cultural backgrounds, including Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people.

Other Requirements

  • Eligibility for a Working With Children Check or professional exemption.
  • Current driver's licence.
  • Legal ability to work in Australia (proof of eligibility required).
