Job Title: Arboriculture Trainee

This exciting opportunity is available for a motivated and enthusiastic individual to join our team as an Arboriculture Trainee.

As an Arboriculture Trainee, you will gain hands-on experience in the care and maintenance of trees, including pruning, rigging, tree removals, felling, and planting. You will work alongside experienced professionals who are passionate about maintaining green spaces in our city.

The role involves supporting the Open Spaces team and gaining practical skills across three tree crews. You will learn rigging, knot tying, and the safe use of equipment, including chainsaws, woodchippers/mulchers, and other tools. This three-year traineeship combines theoretical and practical training with on-the-job learning.

Key Responsibilities:
  1. Participate in a three-year traineeship combining theoretical and practical training with on-the-job learning.
  2. Support the Open Spaces team and gain practical skills across three tree crews.
  3. Learn rigging, knot tying, and the safe use of equipment including chainsaws, woodchippers/mulchers, and other tools.
  4. Contribute to pruning, rigging, tree removals, felling, and tree planting projects to maintain and enhance city green spaces.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
  1. Open to school leavers, mature age applicants, second year apprentices, and those who have already commenced a Certificate III in Arboriculture.
  2. Pursuing a Certificate III in Arboriculture with on-the-job training and support.
  3. Willingness to complete a Certificate III in Arboriculture at Yallah TAFE.
