Job Description

We are seeking an experienced professional to join our team as a Tree Management Officer. The successful candidate will be responsible for administering Council's Tree Preservation Order, undertaking administration tasks, and providing advice on correct arboriculture practice and tree management.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Administer and enforce Council's Tree Preservation Order (TPO)
  • Undertake administrative tasks related to tree management
  • Prepare quotation documents and project manage arboriculture works on public land
  • Provide expert advice on correct arboriculture practice and tree management
  • Liaise with independent Arborists and consultants on tree management matters
  • E nsure compliance with Council policies, procedures, and legislation, as well as self-care and safety in the workplace
  • Assist Parks Coordinator with tree management issues and street tree maintenance
  • Attend external committees as council alternate technical officer
Requirements:
  • A Bachelor's degree or higher in Arboriculture, Horticulture, Forestry, Environmental Science, or a related field
  • Proven experience in tree management, preferably in a local government setting
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
