Key Role Summary

We are seeking a senior legal professional to join our corporate legal team. This key role is responsible for providing solutions-focused, commercial legal advice to stakeholders across the business.

Main Responsibilities:

  • To provide corporate legal advice on a full spectrum of legal issues to support the activities of the organization and ensure compliance with legal/regulatory obligations.
  • To draft, review, and negotiate agreements, contracts, and other legal documents to protect the rights of the organization.
  • To manage costs and engagement of external lawyers to ensure cost-effective and accurate legal advice.
  • To mentor and supervise lawyers within the corporate legal team.
  • To stay up-to-date with changes in legislation and best practice, particularly as it impacts core superannuation business (SIS and Corporations Act).

This role will involve collaborating closely with key business stakeholders to ensure advice is provided having regard to the strategic goals of the organization.

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • Tertiary qualifications in law and an unrestricted practising certificate as an Australian Legal Practitioner.
  • Extensive post-admission experience working in the area of superannuation or financial services.
  • Knowledge of Commonwealth and State legislation as it relates to financial services, particularly superannuation, advice, and life insurance.
  • Ability to lead negotiations on complex matters and work collaboratively across all levels of an organisation.
