Senior Legal Officer Job Description

This leadership role is a key part of our team, responsible for providing specialist legal advice and assistance on complex criminal investigations.

  • We are seeking an experienced lawyer who can work in a dynamic environment, implementing new powers and supporting frontline officers to enhance community safety.
  • The ideal candidate will provide high-quality confidential advice to senior officers and members of the Senior Executive on complicated operational legal matters.

In this role, you will assist in developing and delivering training programs and projects, as well as supervise and mentor legal officers within the department.

Key Skills and Qualifications

To be successful in this position, you will need:

  • Strong knowledge of criminal law, evidence, and operational law enforcement initiatives.
  • Able to draft warrants, affidavits, and appear in court hearings.
  • Liaise with internal units and external agencies on sensitive operational matters.
