About Senior Legal Counsel Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Legal Counsel to provide expert legal advice to our leadership and stakeholders.

Main Responsibilities:
  • Research and provide written and oral legal guidance on complex issues.
  • Manage risk by reviewing, negotiating, and advising on contracts and commercial activities.
  • Write statements of reasons for administrative decisions and update policies, procedures, and guidelines.
  • Process applications to access information and prepare submissions to decision-makers, government, and other relevant entities.
Requirements:
  • A bachelor's degree in law or equivalent admission as an Australian lawyer with eligibility to hold an unrestricted Queensland practising certificate.
  • Strong critical and strategic legal analysis and research skills with demonstrated ability to produce practical solutions to complex issues.
  • Minimum 7+ years PAE experience with (preferably) 4 years' experience in private practice corporate/commercial litigation.
  • Prior in-house experience and administrative expertise will be highly regarded.
  • Knowledge of government structures and processes is also highly regarded.
