About the Role

The Department of Industry, Science and Resources is seeking an experienced professional to lead the Financial Reporting, Taxation and Treasury team. As a key member of the Chief Finance Officer Division, you will be responsible for delivering high-quality financial reporting outputs, ensuring taxation compliance, and providing strategic guidance on cash management. Your exceptional leadership skills and technical accounting expertise will enable you to drive process improvements and build strong relationships with stakeholders.

About the Team

The Financial Management Branch is a key part of our department, providing a range of financial and operational services that support our strategic objectives. The Financial Reporting, Taxation and Treasury team is a dynamic and collaborative group that works closely with other branches to achieve our goals.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead and manage a team of financial reporting, taxation, and treasury professionals to deliver high-quality financial reporting outputs, ensure taxation compliance, and provide strategic guidance on cash management.
  • Prioritize the achievement of key deliverables and milestones, driving strategic process improvements and building strong relationships with stakeholders.
  • Provide technical accounting advice and guidance to stakeholders within the department.
  • Work collaboratively with key stakeholders, including the Australian National Audit Office, to achieve our goals.
  • Mentor and support team members, creating a positive and inclusive team environment.
Requirements
  • Tertiary qualification in Commerce, Economics, or Accounting.
  • Professional certifications, such as CFA, CA, or CPA.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a Baseline security clearance.
  • Australian citizenship.
