About the Role

The Department of Industry, Science and Resources is seeking a highly skilled Chief Financial Officer to lead the Financial Reporting, Taxation and Treasury team.

As a key member of the Financial Management Branch, you will be responsible for delivering the department's financial reporting outputs, including financial statements and monthly external reporting.

You will also lead the taxation compliance activities, including GST and FBT, and drive strategic process improvements to enhance the department's financial management capabilities.

About You

We are looking for a seasoned financial professional with a strong track record of leadership, technical accounting expertise, and excellent communication skills.

You will have a tertiary qualification in Commerce/Economics/Accounting or similar, and relevant professional certifications such as CFA, CA, or CPA.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead and manage a team of financial reporting, taxation and treasury professionals
  • Deliver financial reporting outputs, including financial statements and monthly external reporting

  • Drive strategic process improvements to enhance the department's financial management capabilities
  • Provide technical accounting advice to stakeholders
Eligibility

Tertiary qualification in Commerce/Economics/Accounting or similar

CFA, CA, CPA or equivalent qualification

Australian citizenship

Baseline security clearance
