At Serco, we provide integrated healthcare services to Australian Defence Force (ADF) personnel across Australia. Our partnership with Bupa enables us to deliver defence-ready clinical and support staff across 50+ on-base locations nationally, ensuring that ADF personnel have access to quality on-site medical care.
About the Role
In this role, you will work as a part of a multidisciplinary team within a health centre setting, supporting the diverse mental health needs of military members. Referrals will come from various sources, including the member, medical team, and Command, offering diversity in presentations and support requests.
Key Responsibilities
- Initial intake and assessment of patients
- Flexibility to accommodate presenting needs
- Use of psychometrics and engagement in treatment
- Autonomy to manage caseload, including oversight and case management of externally referred cases
- Provision of internal treatment to Defence members
- Management of crisis presentations, risk assessment, and risk management planning
Requirements
- Current unconditional and unrestricted registration as a Psychologist with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA)
- Minimum 2 years post-graduate experience in the last 5 years in mental health in a primary health or specialist mental health setting
- Recent participation in Continuous Professional Development (CPD) activities in accordance with AHPRA
- Current Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (HLTAID009) certification
- Knowledge of relevant State/Territory policies and procedures and national standards governing mental health practice

Lavarack Health Centre is a primary medical facility providing a range of healthcare services to Defence members. The centre operates 24/7, with a multidisciplinary team of healthcare professionals working together to deliver high-quality care.
