In this position, you will work as part of a multidisciplinary team within a health centre setting, supporting the diverse mental health needs of military members. Referrals will come from various sources, including the member, medical team, and Command, offering diversity in presentations and support requests.
Key Responsibilities- Initial intake and assessment with flexibility to accommodate presenting need
- Use of psychometrics and engagement in treatment that capitalises on your skills, interests, and scope of practice
- Autonomy to manage your caseload, including oversight and case management of externally referred cases and the provision of internal treatment to Defence members
- Management of crisis presentations, risk assessment, and risk management planning, supported within a multi-disciplinary team
- Current unconditional and unrestricted registration as a Psychologist with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA)
- Minimum 2 years post-graduate experience in the last 5 years in mental health in a primary health or specialist mental health setting, undertaking comprehensive mental health assessment and delivering a range of evidence-based 'Focussed Psychological Strategies' as defined under the Medicare Schedule
- Recent participation in Continuous Professional Development (CPD) activities in accordance with AHPRA
- Current Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (HLTAID009) certification
- Knowledge of relevant State/Territory policies and procedures and national standards governing mental health practice (desirable)
- Knowledge of the ADF Mental Health and Wellbeing Strategy 2018-2023 (desirable)
