About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Health Worker Advanced to join our Mental Health Service Group on a permanent full-time basis.

As a member of our team, you will participate in and contribute to the delivery of a culturally sensitive and appropriate mental health care service to Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander clients who access our Child and Youth Mental Health Service Team.

Key Responsibilities
  • Deliver culturally sensitive and appropriate mental health care services to Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander clients
  • Participate in and contribute to the development of culturally sensitive and appropriate mental health care programs and services
  • Collaborate with other health professionals to provide comprehensive mental health care services
  • Provide education and training to other health professionals on culturally sensitive and appropriate mental health care practices
  • Contribute to the development and implementation of policies and procedures related to Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander mental health care
Requirements
  • Certificate IV in Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander Primary Health, or Certificate IV in Mental Health Peer Work, or Certificate IV in Mental Health, or Certificate IV in Alcohol and other Drugs
  • Diploma of Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander Primary Health Care, or Diploma of Mental Health, or Diploma of Alcohol and Other Drugs
  • Blue Card Checks required
  • This is a Vaccine Preventable Diseases (VPD) risk role: Hepatitis A/B, Measles, Mumps, Rubella, Varicella, and Pertussis
  • Possession of class C drivers' licence
  • Probation period may apply
  • Pre-employment checks will be conducted
