Job Description

We are seeking a Claims Specialist to join our team where we value people and strive for excellence in everything we do. As a Claims Specialist, you will provide ongoing coaching and mentoring to Case Managers on the claims management process enabling them to provide exceptional customer service to clients.

You will be the escalation point for technical advice for Case Managers authorising and reviewing claims interpreting policies and contract requirements and taking accountability for the resolution of customer complaints or requests for decision reviews.

You will work closely with the Claims Team Manager providing feedback on Case Managers' successes and development opportunities and liaising with internal and external stakeholders to ensure timely and quality management of claims.

You will also generate reports to enable efficient and effective management of the team and continuously review Claims processes and frameworks to seek out opportunities for improvement.

The ideal candidate will have at least 2 years demonstrated experience in a similar role within Life Insurance or 5 years experience as a Life Insurance Claims Manager.

They will have experience in coaching and embedding knowledge process improvement and project management and be able to identify and develop strategies to overcome barriers in claims assessment and management.

Strong written and verbal communication negotiation and influencing skills are essential as well as a demonstrated ability to provide excellent customer service to a wide range of clients and stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide coaching and mentoring to Case Managers on the claims management process.
  • Authorise and review claims interpreting policies and contract requirements.
  • Take accountability for the resolution of customer complaints or requests for decision reviews.
  • Work closely with the Claims Team Manager providing feedback on Case Managers' successes and development opportunities.
  • Liaise with internal and external stakeholders to ensure timely and quality management of claims.
  • Generate reports to enable efficient and effective management of the team.
  • Continuously review Claims processes and frameworks to seek out opportunities for improvement.
Required Skills and Qualifications

The ideal candidate will possess the following skills and qualifications:

Experience:

  • At least 2 years demonstrated experience in a similar role within Life Insurance or 5 years experience as a Life Insurance Claims Manager.

Skills:

  • Experience in coaching and embedding knowledge process improvement and project management.
  • Able to identify and develop strategies to overcome barriers in claims assessment and management.
  • Strong written and verbal communication negotiation and influencing skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to provide excellent customer service to a wide range of clients and stakeholders.
