About the role

Conservation and Biodiversity Planning Lead sought to drive strategic planning and ensure a safe, resilient natural environment in Ipswich.

This is an exciting opportunity to deliver policies, strategies and plans to conserve unique landscapes and manage biodiversity, leveraging your environmental expertise.

Main responsibilities include:

  • Leading a team to deliver policies, plans and guidelines for conservation and biodiversity.
  • Implementing council's Natural Environment Strategy and associated species management plans for koalas, flying foxes, brush tailed rock wallabies, and their habitats.
  • Providing specialist advice on vegetation, fauna and habitat assessments, surveys and monitoring to inform decision making.
  • Researching, modelling and analysing data to develop effective conservation solutions.

For this challenging role you will have:

  • Experience in strategy development, implementation and review.
  • The ability to lead teams and ensure projects deliver environmental outcomes.
  • A passion for driving positive change for the natural environment and community.
  • Tertiary qualifications in environmental management, resource management or a related field.
