Environmental Excellence Specialist Opportunity

Are you passionate about sustainability and making a positive impact on the environment?

We seek an environmentally conscious individual to contribute to our mission by developing and implementing strategies, policies, and initiatives to ensure compliance with regulations, minimize environmental impacts, and promote sustainability across operations.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Support delivery of sustainability action plans.
  • Offer expert advice and support to internal stakeholders on environmental matters, championing best practices and ensuring compliance with regulations.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate environmental and sustainability considerations into business processes and decision-making.
  • Conduct environmental audits, assessments, and inspections to uncover opportunities for enhancement and guarantee adherence to environmental policies and procedures.
  • Play a crucial role in investigating environmental incidents, ensuring valuable lessons are learned, and implementing appropriate actions. These insights and actions will be effectively communicated to prevent future occurrences.
  • Utilize environmental performance data to uncover trends and opportunities for enhancement, and develop insightful reports for management review.
  • Collaborate with regulatory agencies, external consultants, clients, and third-party organizations on matters related to environmental permitting, reporting, and compliance.
  • Create and present engaging environmental training programs and awareness campaigns to educate employees and foster a culture of environmental sustainability.
  • Assess sustainability risks and opportunities and assist in the development of environmental management plans for new projects and developments.
  • Stay up-to-date with emerging environmental trends, technologies, and regulations, and evaluate their potential impact on company operations.
  • Contribute to the development and implementation of environmental sustainability goals, targets, and initiatives.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with key stakeholders to promote environmental collaboration and partnerships.
Requirements:

You will need a degree in Environmental Science, Environmental Engineering or a related field with relevant certifications (e.g., IEMA, IEEM / CIWEM etc), with 3+ years proven experience. You will also need sound knowledge of environmental legislation, regulations, and best practices, with the ability to interpret and apply requirements effectively. Strong analytical skills and attention to detail, with the ability to collect, analyze, and interpret environmental data. Ability to travel occasionally to project locations as needed, and commitment to promoting environmental sustainability and corporate social responsibility.
