Rail Traffic Coordinator Role
Wilmar Sugar & Renewables is seeking an experienced Rail Traffic Coordinator to join our team. As a key member of our operations team, you will be responsible for coordinating the safe and efficient movement of trains on our Pioneer and Kalamia railway networks.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage train schedules and operations to maintain a steady and reliable flow of sugar cane to the mill.
- Coordinate the movement of trains, ensuring safe and efficient operations.
- Monitor and manage train movements using advanced control systems with real-time GPS and automation tools.
- Apply data analytics to predict issues, optimize schedules, and adjust operations based on real-time conditions.
- Implement smart safety systems to monitor rail infrastructure and train conditions.
- Supervise staff, manage associated administration, and coordinate on-the-job training for loco crews.
- Utilize cloud-based platforms and mobile apps for seamless communication with train drivers, production teams, and logistics managers.
Requirements
To succeed in this role, you will need a solid understanding of rail transport operations, a commitment to safety, and great communication skills. You will also need an intermediate level of computer skills and a manual 'C' class driver's license.
