Health Promotion Coordinator

The Health Promotion Coordinator plays a key role in the development, coordination, and implementation of targeted health promotion initiatives within the Nepean Blue Mountains Local Health District (NBMLHD).

As a Health Promotion Coordinator, you will work closely with health professionals to design, coordinate, and deliver evidence-based health promotion programs and services that address priority areas such as drug and alcohol use.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Developing and implementing health promotion strategies aligned with NSW Health priorities;
  • Coordinating with stakeholders to deliver targeted health promotion initiatives;
  • Collaborating with health professionals to implement harm reduction principles;
  • Maintaining relationships with community organizations and government agencies to leverage resources and support for health promotion initiatives;

The ideal candidate will have:

  • Tertiary qualifications in health promotion, population health, education, communication, marketing, or other relevant field; and/or experience;
  • High-level project management skills with the ability to plan, implement, evaluate, and disseminate population health projects and report outcomes;
  • Experience working on health promotion issues related to alcohol and other drugs, including engagement with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities and disadvantaged groups;
  • Excellent written and verbal communication, group facilitation, negotiation, and computer skills;
  • Strong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple tasks to meet deadlines;
