Role Summary

The Assistant Director of Nursing will play a pivotal role in ensuring the delivery of high-quality clinical care within our facility. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for leading and supporting the nursing staff, overseeing clinical education, and ensuring compliance with relevant legislation and standards.

Key Responsibilities
  • Liaise and Collaborate with Residents and Families
  • Ensure accurate and timely clinical documentation
  • Provide hands-on clinical support to Nurses and Care workers
  • Organize and Deliver Staff Education
  • Ensure the competency program is implemented for all care staff
  • Manage Staff Rosters and Schedules
  • Assist in collating data and reporting against clinical indicators
  • Conduct Clinical Audits and Implement Quality Improvements
  • Actively participate in the Continuous Quality Improvement Program
  • Monitor Medication Administration and Implement New Care Software
  • Liaise with doctors and allied health professionals

Requirements
  • A degree in nursing and registration with AHPRA
  • Minimum of 3 years' experience as a registered nurse
  • Minimum of 2 years' experience working in the aged care sector
  • Knowledge of the Aged Care Act, Aged Care Quality and Safety, Aged Care Funding Instrument (ACFI), and mandatory reporting
  • Demonstrated experience with Continuous Quality Improvement (CQI) and risk management
  • Experience in clinical education
  • Competent computer skills, including the use of Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
  • Ability to work independently and communicate effectively with residents, relatives, and healthcare teams
  • Membership of a professional organization (e.g., Australian College of Nursing) is desirable
