Healthcare Administrator Opportunity

The role of a Healthcare Administrator is to provide exceptional support to patients, visitors and hospital staff by being the first point of contact in our busy medical/surgical ward.

This position requires day work on Wednesday, Thursday and Friday.

About the Role

  • Deliver a warm and welcoming experience to patients, visitors and hospital staff by greeting and directing them in a courteous and professional manner.
  • Respond to and manage incoming calls and inquiries for the ward with precision and efficiency.
  • Maintain accurate patient records including admission, discharge and transfer documentation with utmost care.
  • Ensure electronic medical records and paper files are up-to-date as required.
  • Coordinate appointments, tests and procedures with clinical staff ensuring seamless operations.
  • Facilitate communication between hospital departments such as radiology, pharmacy and housekeeping to guarantee effective collaboration.
  • Ensure clerical supplies are stocked and ordered as needed to avoid any disruptions.
  • Assist in preparing patient charts and maintaining ward filing systems with diligence.
  • Process incoming and outgoing mail and internal correspondence with attention to detail.
  • Guarantee confidentiality and security of patient information by adhering to hospital policies and regulations.
  • Provide administrative support to nursing and medical staff as needed to ensure smooth operations.

Qualifications and Skills

  • Prior experience in a healthcare or administrative role is highly desirable.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and electronic health record systems is essential.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills are vital for success in this role.
  • Strong organizational and multitasking abilities are necessary to handle multiple tasks efficiently.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, sensitive environment with high accuracy is crucial.
  • Knowledge of medical terminology is advantageous but not mandatory.
