Protecting Melbourne's water supply and drainage infrastructure is a vital task that requires expert management. As a Dam Safety Specialist, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the safety of our dams and reservoirs.

About the Role

This is a challenging yet rewarding position that offers the opportunity to make a real impact on public health and safety. You will work closely with our team of engineers and technicians to develop and implement effective dam safety management strategies.

  • You will be responsible for providing technical expertise on dam safety management, including asset management, project delivery, and oversight of project intent.
  • You will design and lead programs of work across our dam safety portfolio, including condition inspections, design reviews, engineering analysis, and risk assessments.
  • You will develop and review surveillance regimes and respond to, analyze, and interpret collected data and physical observations from field staff.
  • You will monitor and report on compliance with regulatory and duty of care obligations for dam safety.
  • You will manage consultants through project investigations, analysis, risk assessments, and project development stages, including design.
About You
  • You have a tertiary degree in civil or mechanical engineering or a related field.
  • You are actively registered as an engineer in a related discipline.
  • You have extensive experience and knowledge of dam safety management principles.
  • You have a strong understanding of the regulatory environment in Victoria and experience in managing infrastructure assets.
  • You have experience and knowledge of good practice in asset management, project management, or asset planning processes.
  • You have strong financial and commercial acumen skills.
  • You have proficiency in the use and application of asset management systems.
