Lead Dam Safety Specialist

We are seeking an experienced professional to lead our dam safety initiatives, responsible for ensuring the safe and efficient operation of our iconic dams.

Job Description

Role Overview: The Lead Dam Safety Specialist will be responsible for leading the development and implementation of dam safety strategies, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements and industry best practices.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement comprehensive dam safety management plans
  • Conduct regular inspections and assessments of dam infrastructure to identify potential hazards and risks
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to develop and implement risk mitigation strategies
  • Provide expert advice on dam safety to internal teams and external partners
  • Lead the development of business cases for capital projects related to dam safety

Requirements:

  • Tertiary qualification in Civil or Mechanical Engineering, or a related field
  • Proven experience in dam safety management, with a strong understanding of regulatory requirements and industry best practices
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
