Our role in ensuring the water supply and drainage portfolios are safe is a high priority for us. As a Specialist Asset Manager, you will play a key part in managing these assets, reporting to the Principal Dams Engineer.

On a day-to-day basis, your duties will include overseeing dam safety subject matter expertise through project delivery and acceptance processes. You will also provide technical advice on asset management strategies, including risk assessments and surveillance regimes.

About The Role

Working closely with the Principal Dams Engineer and other professionals, you'll design and implement programs of work across our dam safety portfolio, addressing complex challenges and influencing critical decisions.

Responsibilities
  • Lead dam safety inspections and program development, as well as condition assessments and reviews.
  • Provide technical expertise on asset management strategies, including risk assessments, quality control, and performance monitoring.
  • Develop and review surveillance regimes, interpreting data and physical observations from field staff.
  • Monitor compliance with regulatory requirements and duty of care obligations, reporting on maintenance strategies and emergency response plans.
Requirements
  • A tertiary degree in civil or mechanical engineering or a similar field.
  • Active registration in a related discipline.
  • Extensive experience in dam safety management, preferably with a strong understanding of Victorian regulations.
  • Excellent technical and analytical skills, as well as strong communication and collaboration abilities.
