The role of a Legal Secretary plays a vital part in ensuring the smooth operation of our Wills and Estates team.

Job Description

As a Legal Secretary, you will be responsible for assisting with all aspects of Wills and Estates, including preparation of legal documents, authorities, and distribution statements. You will also be required to perform administrative tasks such as word processing, typing, collating correspondence, and digital dictation when required.

Responsibilities
  • Preparation of Wills, EPOAs, and associated estate planning documents, authorities, and distribution statements.
  • Word processing, typing, and collating correspondence and other documents.
  • Digital dictation.
  • File opening, preparing costs letters, and archiving files once completed.
  • Generating trust and office receipts and cheque requisition.
Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need to have strong experience as a legal secretary, preferably within a Wills & Estates practice. You will also require a demonstrated understanding of legal terminology, principles, procedures, and forms. Excellent interpersonal, communication, and organisational skills are essential, as well as the ability to work efficiently as part of a team.
