Job Description

The University is seeking an experienced and motivated Privacy Officer to lead its privacy governance and access to information functions.

This role will ensure the University complies with NSW and Commonwealth privacy laws, oversees requests made under the Government Information (Public Access) Act (GIPA), and manages privacy complaints and breaches.

As a key member of the team, you will be responsible for providing expert guidance and leadership on privacy matters, developing and implementing policies and procedures, and ensuring the University's compliance with relevant legislation.

You will have extensive knowledge of NSW and Commonwealth privacy and access laws, ideally a background in law, privacy, or information management, and strong analytical and communication skills.

With your expertise, you will drive improvements aligned with our Privacy Management Plan, embed best practices across the institution, and promote a culture of transparency and accountability.

  • Ensure University compliance with NSW and Commonwealth privacy laws;
  • Oversee requests made under the Government Information (Public Access) Act (GIPA);
  • Manage privacy complaints and breaches;
