About the Role

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Employment Consultant to join our team at Ability Options. As an Employment Consultant, you will play a crucial role in supporting individuals with disabilities to achieve their employment aspirations and inclusion in the community.

Key Responsibilities
  • Build and maintain effective relationships with local employers to identify employment opportunities and secure placements.
  • Conduct customer appointments and guide individuals through the employment process, identifying barriers and developing management plans and pathways.
  • Maintain progress reviews and identify next steps at each milestone.
  • Meet performance indicators by converting sales leads into placements.
  • Deliver effective and timely communication and post-placement care to both employers and customers.
Essential Criteria
  • Demonstrated recruitment experience.
  • Excellent customer and client interpersonal skills.
  • Drive to work in a targets-based, fast-paced environment.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills and ability to adapt style to suit audience.
  • Knowledge and application of Disability Employment Services (DES) contract DEED and guidelines desirable but not essential.
  • Ability to prioritise workload, use initiative and multi-task.
  • Self-motivated, enthusiastic and reliable work style.
  • High level of computer literacy.
  • Satisfactory background checks including Police Check and Working With Children Check (or willingness to obtain).
  • Knowledge of and commitment to child safe standards and mandatory reporting requirements.
  • Experience working within the disability service sector highly regarded.
  • Current driver's licence (minimum P2).
