Are you a dedicated mental health professional with a passion for leading teams and making a difference in the lives of children and their families? We’re looking for a Senior Children’s Mental Health Clinician to join our Youth Enhanced Services (YES) program and help shape the future of mental health support in our community.

As a Senior Children’s Mental Health Clinician at EACH, you will play a pivotal role in leading and supporting our YES team. You will:

  • Provide clinical and operational guidance to the YES team, including secondary consultation and operational supervision, to foster a flexible and empowered team culture
  • Oversee the quality of client files, record keeping, and data entry across the team, offering regular coaching to maintain high standards
  • Deliver comprehensive case management, care coordination, psychological therapy, and group work to young people and their families, focusing on emotional regulation, impulse control, and interpersonal relationships
  • Conduct holistic and specialized assessments, develop treatment plans, and manage transitions in care as part of an integrated team approach
  • Work closely with care agencies, interagency networks, and educators to create a supportive network, and provide consultation to care-team partners as needed
  • Develop and deliver culturally appropriate and holistic services, while actively promoting and building collaborative relationships within the community 
  • Participate in team meetings, case conferences, and clinical reviews, and actively engage in quality improvement activities to enhance service outcomes

About the program
EACH is the Lead Agency of the Therapeutic Alliance (TA), a consortium of community based, not-for-profit organizations who provide mental health services across the North Coast of NSW through a multidisciplinary, person centred, hub-and-spoke model of care. 

The alliance offers a range of services under the Primary Mental Health Program (PMHP), including Healthy Minds, the Mental Health Nursing Incentive Program, Youth Enhanced Services (YES), Suicide Prevention, Counselling Support, and Low Intensity Mental Health programs.

About you
To thrive in this role, you will have:

  • Tertiary qualifications in Psychology, Social Work, Mental Health Nursing, or a related discipline
  • Proven ability to lead multidisciplinary teams, with at least two years of leadership experience, including direct line management and performance management 
  • Demonstrated experience in formulating mental health treatment plans and implementing therapeutic approaches (e.g., DBT, ACT)
  • A strong understanding of trauma’s impact on mental health in children, adolescents, and young adults
  • High-quality discipline-specific practice skills, including mental state examination, crisis and risk assessment, and aftercare planning
  • Minimum of four years of experience working with children, young people, and families, particularly in the context of moderate to high acuity mental health issues
  • A postgraduate qualification in counselling or a related field (highly regarded)
