Unilever, a pioneer in purpose-driven business, seeks an experienced Tax Strategist to lead tax matters in the country/MCO under the guidance of the Tax Director. This role is pivotal in shaping Unilever's competitive effective tax rate (ETR) and optimizing indirect tax position.

Role Overview

The Tax Strategist ANZ will be responsible for providing business support from a tax perspective, supervising tax return and compliance for Corporate Income Tax, Fringe Benefit Tax (FBT), and GST. They will also support the Tax Director in planning and lobbying, ensuring timely and accurate reporting and compliance.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Provide business decision support from a tax perspective, ensuring alignment with global policy and instructions.
  2. Supervise tax return and compliance for Corporate Income Tax, FBT, and GST, ensuring accuracy and timeliness.
  3. Support the Tax Director in planning and lobbying, identifying opportunities to optimize tax position and minimize risk.
  4. Manage relationships with key stakeholders in the business and finance function, ensuring effective communication and collaboration.
Requirements and Qualifications

To succeed in this role, you should possess:

  • Extensive experience in tax planning and compliance, with a focus on Corporate Income Tax, FBT, and GST.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to interpret complex tax laws and regulations.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build strong relationships with stakeholders.
  • A bachelor's degree in accounting or a related field, with relevant certifications (e.g., CA, CPA).
