Key Position Overview

This is a pivotal role within our Finance team, responsible for driving strategic decision-making and commercial performance across the organisation.

The Senior Commercial Strategy Analyst will play a critical role in delivering high-impact financial and strategic analysis, supporting investment decisions, and identifying opportunities for growth and efficiency.

Job Responsibilities

Support the annual strategy refresh process, ensuring alignment with organisational goals and market dynamics.

Conduct environmental scans, competitor benchmarking, and internal performance reviews to inform strategic priorities.

Support and collaborate with senior leaders to shape strategic direction and investment/divestment priorities.

Translate strategic objectives into actionable business plans, including timelines, resource requirements, and measurable outcomes.

Partner with business units to ensure alignment between strategy and operational execution.

Monitor progress against strategic initiatives and escalate risks or barriers to execution.

Develop and maintain KPI dashboards and performance scorecards to track progress against strategic and financial goals.

Support monthly and quarterly reporting cycles with clear, data-driven commentary and recommendations.

Lead or support the development of robust business cases for new initiatives, capital investments, and strategic projects.

Ensure business cases include financial modelling, risk assessments, and alignment with strategic objectives.

Build and maintain complex financial models to evaluate investment opportunities, scenario planning, and sensitivity analysis.

Provide commercial insights and recommendations based on financial outcomes and market trends.

Support pricing strategies, cost-benefit analysis, and margin improvement initiatives.

Own and continuously improve the organisation's investment evaluation framework, ensuring consistency, transparency, and alignment with strategic goals.

Provide guidance and training to stakeholders on investment governance, evaluation criteria, and post-implementation reviews.

Ensure all investment proposals meet internal standards and regulatory requirements.
