Job Description

A leading civil contractor seeks a seasoned Commercial Manager to play a pivotal role in shaping and safeguarding the commercial success of projects.

This senior position offers an exceptional opportunity for a highly skilled professional to leverage their expertise in head contract reviews, subcontract negotiations, scope management strategy, and project commercial performance.

  • Guide head contract reviews: Develop and implement effective strategies for reviewing head contracts, ensuring alignment with business objectives.
  • Subcontract departures and scope management strategy: Collaborate with upstream and downstream stakeholders to identify opportunities for improvement and drive strategic decisions.
  • Project commercial performance: Provide expert guidance on project commercial performance, identifying areas for improvement and implementing solutions to enhance profitability.

The Commercial Manager will be responsible for driving system and process improvements across commercial governance, performance tracking, and cost forecasting.

Required Skills and Qualifications
  • Senior commercial roles experience: A minimum of 10 years' experience in senior commercial roles within civil construction or infrastructure.
  • Australian contract law knowledge: Strong knowledge of Australian contract law and industry-standard contracts.
  • Complex agreements management: Experience managing complex head/subcontract agreements, variations, and disputes.
