Home Care Assistant Opportunity

This is a role where you will be responsible for providing holistic, client-focused care in line with each client's tailored care plan. You will play a crucial part in assisting clients with daily living activities and ensuring their comfort in their own homes.

About the Role
  • You will provide personal care and assist with daily activities, following the Client Care Plan.
  • You will work closely with Registered Nurses to deliver client-specific care, including personal hygiene, toileting, nutrition, mobility, and more.
  • You will identify client care needs and work collaboratively with the client's care team to ensure high-quality, holistic care.
  • You will communicate effectively with clients, their families, and team members.
  • You will support clients with light housekeeping duties to promote independence, including laundry, cleaning, and meal preparation.
  • You will maintain accurate daily client notes and promptly report any concerns to the RN/Care Manager.
Key Responsibilities

Your key responsibilities will include:

  • Assisting with daily living activities, such as bathing, dressing, and using the toilet.
  • Providing personal care, including grooming, toileting, and feeding.
  • Supporting clients with mobility aids, range-of-motion exercises, and non-sterile dressings, under the supervision of an RN.
Qualifications and Skills
  • Cert III in Aged Care/Disability (or equivalent).
  • Current Senior First Aid [HLTAID011], CPR [HLTAID009] and Manual Handling [HLTWHS005] (with 3+ months until expiry).
  • A roadworthy and insured vehicle with a current driver's licence.
  • Federal Police Clearance (within the last 6 months).
  • Willingness to travel and flexibility with shifts.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills with empathy for elderly clients.
  • Knowledge of relevant legislation and standards for home care.
  • Commitment to safety, infection control, and emergency procedures.
