Senior Engineering Professional

 

This position leads the engineering team at our underground coal operation in New South Wales, Australia. Key responsibilities include setting engineering standards, ensuring statutory compliance and delivering safe, efficient and innovative solutions.

 

Main Responsibilities:

  • Leading a high-performing team of mechanical, electrical and support staff
  • Maintaining compliance with relevant laws, regulations and industry standards
  • Implementing and reviewing site maintenance and reliability strategies
  • Managing budgets and contributing to annual mine planning processes
  • Driving continuous improvement and innovation in engineering practices
  • Fostering a positive safety culture across engineering operations
  • Supporting lifecycle asset management and equipment care initiatives
  • Contributing to major projects and performance improvement initiatives

 

Required Skills and Qualifications:

  • Tertiary qualifications in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering
  • NSW Practising Certificate as Manager of Mechanical or Electrical Engineering (Underground Coal)
  • Certificate IV or Diploma in Project Management
  • A minimum of 5 years' experience in a senior engineering or leadership position within underground coal mining
  • Strong understanding of health, safety, environment and compliance requirements
  • Proven leadership capabilities and stakeholder engagement skills
  • Sound commercial acumen and experience managing systems
  • Familiarity with CMMS, reliability-centred maintenance and digital technologies is desirable
  • Risk Management and ICAM qualifications are advantageous
