Automotive Technical Trainer

Position Overview

We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Automotive Technical Trainer to enhance the skills and knowledge of technicians within the automotive sector. This role is crucial in fostering the professional growth of individuals throughout their automotive careers.

The selected candidate will work closely with the Technical Training Manager to ensure that all training materials are relevant and aligned with the strategic goals of the organization. The primary objective will be to support the competency development of the retail network across various markets.

This position may require occasional travel and involves a commitment to delivering high-quality training sessions, contributing to curriculum development, and coordinating activities that bolster the training department's objectives.

Key Responsibilities

  • Deliver comprehensive technical training programs (both in-person and virtual) for various levels of technicians.
  • Regularly assess and update training content in collaboration with management to maintain its relevance and effectiveness.
  • Ensure that training offerings are recognized as the most valuable and sought-after in the industry.
  • Collaborate with regional teams and dealerships to optimize participation in scheduled training events.
  • Apply contemporary adult learning principles to enhance the learning experience and outcomes.

Qualifications and Skills

To excel in this role, candidates should possess:

  • In-depth technical knowledge of automotive systems and repair methodologies, with familiarity in dealership operations.
  • The ability to communicate complex technical concepts in a clear and accessible manner.
  • Strong business acumen, including experience with performance metrics and achieving strategic objectives.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills, demonstrating a collaborative and engaging approach.
  • Proficiency in computer applications, including MS Office and virtual training platforms.
  • Relevant qualifications or education in the automotive field is preferred.
  • A Certificate IV in Training & Assessment or equivalent is advantageous.
  • A minimum of one year of experience in a training capacity is desirable.
