About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Transformational Strategy Director to join our team at Wavemaker, a global media, content, and technology agency. This is an exciting opportunity for a creative and analytical individual to drive strategic growth and innovation for our clients.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop transformative strategic thinking and ideas across a diverse range of high-profile clients.
  • Collaborate with teams across the agency to bring these strategies to life in innovative and impactful ways.
  • Drive the overall quality of product across the wider agency through training and coaching.
Requirements
  • Positive, articulate, and outstanding creative problem solver.
  • Ability to tell a compelling story through data, business context, and human behavior.
  • Willingness to collaborate and draw in experts when needed.
  • Strong EQ to develop strong working relationships within the agency and with other stakeholders.
What Success Looks Like

In 3 months:

  • Exposure to client teams and learning their key planning and campaign cycles.
  • Understanding of the WAVEMAKER ANZ planning process and how it intersects with WAVEMAKER Momentum.
  • Established collaborative relationships with all key stakeholders and internal reports.
  • A strong understanding of and can clearly articulate the agency and group proposition.
  • Delivering strategic responses to client briefs and building a rapport with clients.

In 6 months:

  • Mastery of the finer points of the WAVEMAKER planning process and providing guidance and training to client teams.
  • Introduced to the wider WAVEMAKER network and building your profile across the national strategy and analytics team in GroupM.
  • Involved from start to finish on at least one WAVEMAKER Momentum study.
  • Becoming a trusted first point of contact for key clients.
  • Meaningfully contributing to strategy responses for new business pitches.

In 12 months:

  • Becoming an integral part of the WAVEMAKER new business team – a go-to person for pitch strategy work.
  • Materially contributing to the overall WAVEMAKER planning process – improving how we approach and solve tough problems for clients.
  • Materially contributing to a thought leadership piece that helps build WAVEMAKER's profile amongst clients and the industry.
  • Becoming a trusted point of contact for strategic and analytics advice across all WAVEMAKER staff.
