**Who we are**
The Transformation Taskforce leads the delivery of the Integrated Transformation Program (with four pillars of Organisation Design; Transformation Action Plan; Culture; and Statement of Strategic Intent) to drive a more integrated approach to governance, budget and financial planning, project management and evaluation, media and communications, L&D and HR management. We also lead coordination of the Portfolio Budget Submissions and develop high-level narratives which inform the portfolio’s strategic direction. The branch also comprises an EPMO with evaluation and change management functions that work with a priorities and delivery unit to ensure the executive have visibility of progress against priorities.

**The Job**
The EL1 Assistant Director, Enterprise Program Management Office (EPMO) is responsible for leading and managing a team of project and program managers, evaluators, analysts and coordinators to deliver high-quality outcomes for the department's strategic initiatives and transformation agenda. The role reports to the Director, EPMO and works closely with senior executives, business owners and stakeholders across the department and external agencies.

**Please note **that the merit pool established through this selection process, which is valid for a period of eighteen months from the date the vacancy was advertised in the Public Service Gazette, may also be used to fill future ongoing vacancies in the branch where the duties are of a similar nature.

**What are we looking for**

- Provide strategic direction, guidance and support to the EPMO team, and across the department, and ensure alignment with the departments vision, mission and values.
- Undertaking business analysis activities, such as process mapping, data collection, stakeholder consultation, gap analysis and risk assessment, to identify issues and opportunities for improvement.
- Develop and implement best practice methodologies, frameworks, tools and standards for project and program management, governance, reporting, risk and issue management, benefits realisation and stakeholder engagement.
- Oversee the planning, delivery and evaluation of a portfolio of complex and high-risk projects and programs, ensuring they meet the agreed scope, quality, time and budget requirements and deliver the expected benefits and outcomes.
- Establish and facilitate effective relationships and communication with senior executives, business owners and stakeholders, and provide regular and accurate advice, reporting and feedback on the progress, maintain program alignment and monitor performance of projects and programs.
- Identify, monitor and manage risks and issues across the portfolio and escalate them as appropriate to the Director, EPMO and other relevant parties.
- Develop executive briefing artefacts and materials on portfolio, program and project performance to inform decision making.
- Lead, coach and develop the EPMO team and foster a culture of collaboration, innovation and continuous improvement.
- Contribute to the development and improvement of the EPMOs policies, procedures, systems and capabilities
- Represent the EPMO in relevant forums, committees and working groups and promote the EPMO's role and value across the department and external agencies.

- Demonstrated experience and expertise in leading and managing a team of project and program management professionals in a complex and dynamic environment.
- High-level skills and experience in planning, delivering and evaluating a portfolio of complex and high-risk projects and programs, ensuring they meet the agreed scope, quality, time and budget requirements and deliver the expected benefits and outcomes.
- Strong attention to detail in the development of quality communications and reporting artefacts for a broad range of stakeholders including senior executives, business owners and stakeholders for various forums.
- Excellent stakeholder management, communication and facilitation skills, with the ability to build and maintain effective relationships and communication with senior executives, business owners and stakeholders, and provide regular and accurate advice, reporting and feedback.
- Sound judgment and ability to identify, monitor and manage risks and issues across the portfolio and escalate them as appropriate.
- Strong leadership and people management skills, with the ability to lead, coach and develop a high-performing team and foster a culture of collaboration, innovation and continuous improvement.
