Our Project

We are proud to be pursuing the Hallett Battery Energy Storage System (BESS), a grid-scale battery that will be developed alongside our gas-fired power station in Canowie, 210km north of Adelaide. This project has the capacity to power up to 81,000 homes for four hours and plans to triple its capacity in a future second stage.

About the Role

As the Project Director of the Hallett BESS, you will join us in the pre-FID stage and be accountable for the end-to-end execution and delivery on the commitments made at FID. Key responsibilities include:

  • Ensuring excellence in pre and post-FID planning, costing, scheduling, and governance to deliver project milestones with an unwavering focus on health, safety, and quality standards.
  • Developing and leading the project team to build capability for successful project execution.
  • Establishing and managing key contractor relationships, understanding contractual agreements, and contributing to procurement and contracting strategy.
  • Representing the project to internal and external stakeholders, including senior executives, regulators, government, community, and media.
About You

This role appeals to experienced EPCM style Project Directors with a genuine passion for contributing to the clean energy transition. We expect you to bring:

  • A Bachelor's degree in a relevant Engineering discipline, with additional qualifications in Project Management or business.
  • Extensive experience in engineering and construction project development and delivery in the energy sector or related heavy industrial fields.
  • Previous experience in grid connection projects, preferably with government contracts and external funding.
  • Demonstrated commitment to excellence in safety, environmental, and quality standards.
Salary and Benefits

We offer a competitive salary range of $120,000 - $180,000 per annum, depending on experience, as well as a comprehensive benefits package that includes professional development opportunities, flexible working arrangements, and a positive work-life balance. Located in Adelaide, this role requires regular travel to site and occasional visits to our Melbourne HQ.
