Lighting Design Coordinator Job Description

Harvey Norman is seeking a skilled Lighting Design Coordinator to join our team. Based onsite at the Homebush West Corporate Office, you will work closely with our Technical Project & Development Manager to coordinate lighting projects and execute requirements for retail stores across Australia and New Zealand.

Main Responsibilities:

  • Coordinate commercial lighting projects from design to installation, maintaining associated documentation.
  • Prepare and develop lighting plans, specifications and proposals for retail spaces that align with project requirements and the corporate vision.
  • Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders – including Property, Design & Planning, Shopfitting Departments and Electrical Contractors ensuring project alignment and execution.
  • Undertake lighting drafting, design and simulation, ensuring compliance to Australian/New Zealand standards in line with the National Construction Code.
  • Attend site meetings as required and undertake site surveys to ensure successful project delivery.
  • Contribute to the effective progression of the team, supporting continuous development and driving process improvement.

Requirements:

  • A degree in Lighting Design, Architecture or a related discipline.
  • At least two years of experience in lighting design, project documentation, and coordination.
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD, AGi32/Dialux, Photometric toolbox and other lighting design tools.
  • Solid understanding of AS/NZ Lighting Standards and Building/Construction Codes.
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills.
  • Excellent organisational skills with high attention to detail.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and prioritise effectively to meet deadlines.
