Job Title: Senior Dementia Care Specialist

About the Role:

This position offers an opportunity to work in a complex care setting, supporting individuals living with dementia. As a key member of our multidisciplinary team, you will be responsible for delivering high-quality care and creating a home-like environment for residents.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide tailored support to residents with complex behaviours and psychological symptoms of dementia
  • Work collaboratively with the residential care operations team, healthcare professionals, and other stakeholders to achieve resident outcomes
  • Model, coach, and mentor staff in clinical and complex behaviour management areas and processes
  • Support case management and clinical decision making, ensuring person-centred care is delivered at all stages
  • Facilitate clinical care delivery by registered nurses and carers, promoting resident well-being and safety

Required Skills and Qualifications:

  • Tertiary qualifications in specialised dementia and/or mental health service nursing for older people
  • Significant experience operating as a consultant or specialist nurse within aged care, preferably in complex dementia-specific care
  • Demonstrated ability to motivate and develop teams, effectively working with staff and other stakeholders
  • Strong leadership, influencing, and negotiation skills
  • Excellent analytical, administrative, and computer skills
  • Able to work independently and as part of a team, with empathy and patience
