IT Service Continuity Manager Role Overview

The IT Service Continuity Manager plays a pivotal role in safeguarding the availability of our technology services, ensuring they are prepared to withstand and recover from disruptions. This role presents a rare opportunity to lead the development and ongoing maturity of our IT Service Continuity framework, aligning IT strategies with broader business continuity objectives to protect the seamless travel experience of millions of passengers.

This is a key leadership position that requires strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, with a focus on assessing risks, impacts, and recovery strategies. The successful candidate will have proven expertise in developing and implementing IT Service Continuity frameworks and Disaster Recovery plans, with knowledge of ITIL, ISO 22301, and related best practices.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop, implement, and continuously improve Sydney Airport's IT Service Continuity framework and plans, ensuring alignment with broader business continuity objectives.
  • Conduct Business Impact Analyses to identify critical IT services, dependencies, and potential risks, and design effective recovery strategies.
  • Design, develop, maintain, and test IT Disaster Recovery plans to safeguard the availability and resilience of mission-critical services.
  • Coordinate and deliver regular disaster recovery testing, establishing a structured test calendar to ensure ongoing readiness and compliance.

Your Skills and Qualifications

To be successful in this role, you will need to possess:

  • Tertiary qualifications or equivalent experience in IT, Computer Science, or a related field.
  • Proven expertise in developing and implementing IT Service Continuity frameworks and Disaster Recovery plans, with knowledge of ITIL, ISO 22301, and related best practices.
  • Strong background in IT service management and operational technology, with a track record of delivering business outcomes through effective monitoring, reporting, and performance management.
  • Excellent communication, collaboration, and stakeholder engagement skills, with the ability to influence and drive process adoption across diverse teams.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, with a focus on assessing risks, impacts, and recovery strategies.
