
Multidisciplinary Family Support Specialist

This role offers the chance to work in a multidisciplinary team providing intake support to vulnerable families. As a key member of our Orange Door agency, you will deliver quality, safe, and effective responses to children, young people, and families experiencing family violence.
The successful candidate will have experience working with children and families, particularly those affected by family violence. You will need to possess well-developed risk assessment and management skills, as well as a sound understanding of relevant legislation and frameworks.
As part of our team, you will receive training and support to help you excel in this critical role. We are committed to fostering a culture of learning and growth within our organisation.
Key responsibilities include:
- Delivering intake support via phone, on-site, and through outreach visits
- Managing a caseload and delivering screening and triage, assessment, crisis responses, service planning, targeted interventions, allocation and coordinated referrals
- Working collaboratively to support integrated risk assessment and planning
- Applying for brokerage on behalf of clients when required
- Referring clients to services within the broader service system and providing them information and support
To be successful in this role, you will require:
- A Bachelor of Social Work or equivalent qualification as per the mandatory minimum qualification requirements for specialist family violence practitioners
- Experience working with children, youth, and families welfare, particularly in the area of family violence
- Well-developed risk assessment and management skills
- Understanding of the MARAM Framework, Best Interests Principles and the Children, Youth and Families Act 2005
- Valid and current Driver's License
