
Cultural Leader for Indigenous Services

Relationships Australia Queensland is seeking a dedicated and passionate cultural leader to drive the delivery of high-quality services to Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples and communities. This role offers a unique opportunity to influence organisational practice, strengthen cultural capability across RAQ, and ensure our programs and services are inclusive, respectful, and responsive to First Nations peoples.
The successful candidate will contribute to organisational initiatives, provide cultural knowledge and supervision, and lead the continuous improvement of RAQ's cultural clinical capabilities. Key responsibilities include:
- Leading the development, implementation, and review of RAQ's First Nations initiatives and workplans in partnership with leadership teams.
- Representing RAQ in relevant First Nations networks, including attending Relationships Australia's National Indigenous Network meetings and chairing groups as required.
- Providing cultural supervision to First Nations staff, and cultural case consultation and support to non-First Nations staff to build cultural capability.
- Supporting the development and delivery of cultural fitness training across RAQ, contributing to training content and evaluating its effectiveness.
- Analysing and interpreting client and program data to ensure evidence-based practices that improve outcomes for First Nations clients.
To be successful in this role, you should possess:
- Lived experience as an Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander person.
- Relevant undergraduate qualifications in Behavioural Science, Psychology, Counselling, or Social Work.
- Demonstrated understanding of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities, cultures, and service needs.
- Experience communicating effectively with a wide range of stakeholders, both written and verbally.
- Strong skills in building positive and respectful relationships, cultural capability leadership, and project delivery.
