Indigenous Knowledge Systems Lead

Cultivate and advance Indigenous knowledge systems in our research initiatives. This role is critical to ensuring our projects are grounded in cultural sensitivity and community priorities.

About the Role
  • This position leads the development of an Indigenous co-designed research project, collaborating with multidisciplinary teams to integrate Indigenous Cultural and Intellectual Property principles into our collections policy, governance, and practice.
  • You will build and maintain relationships with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities, identifying opportunities for mutually beneficial research partnerships.
Key Responsibilities
  • Deliver high-impact Indigenous research projects that centre community priorities and cultural governance.
  • Collaborate with diverse stakeholders to apply IDSov and ICIP principles in science, research, and data contexts.
  • Strengthen trust-based relationships with Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander communities.
Requirements
  • Demonstrated experience leading culturally grounded projects or programs that focus on Indigenous knowledge systems, community priorities, or cultural governance.
