About the Role

The Urban Planner will contribute to high-quality planning outcomes across a portfolio of urban renewal projects. This involves providing statutory, strategic, and development planning input, advice, and review.

  • Provide planning input and advice on due diligence for potential new projects
  • Offer strategic and statutory planning advice to support Civic Projects, Precincts, and Property groups
  • Conduct detailed statutory planning assessments on proposals and projects
  • Prepare or assist with the preparation of EOI and Request for Proposal documentation and bid assessment activities
  • Provide advice on consultant selection, prepare briefs, and manage services as required
  • Assist with the preparation of planning conditions on permits as needed
  • Contribute to technical reports and Board Papers as required
  • Offer planning advice to management as needed
  • Prepare and deliver presentations to internal and external parties as needed
Key Skills and Qualifications

This role requires a strong understanding of the Victorian Planning system. Relevant skills and experience include:

  • Sound knowledge and/or experience in working within the Victorian Planning system
  • Demonstrated experience in planning due diligence activities
  • Ability to understand and analyze planning controls and strategic plans, including amendments
  • Experience working in complex multidisciplinary teams delivering large-scale development projects
  • Strong levels of accountability, initiative, creativity, and innovation
