Grid Connection Specialist

Job Summary

As a Grid Connection Specialist, you will be responsible for managing the entire grid connection process for large-scale renewable energy projects.

The role involves coordinating with Transmission Network Service Providers and Distribution Network Service Providers on connection requirements, developing connection strategies and technical solutions for wind, solar, and battery energy storage projects, and managing grid connection studies including system impact studies, network modelling, and protection coordination.

Key Responsibilities
  • Manage grid connection applications and approval processes for large-scale renewable energy projects
  • Coordinate with TNSPs and DNSPs on connection requirements
  • Develop connection strategies and technical solutions for wind, solar, and battery energy storage projects
  • Manage grid connection studies including system impact studies, network modelling, and protection coordination
  • Oversee connection agreement negotiations and technical requirements compliance
Requirements
  • Extensive experience in grid connections and electrical network engineering
  • Strong understanding of transmission and distribution network systems, grid codes, and technical standards
  • Experience managing grid connection processes with TNSPs, DNSPs, and AEMO
  • Knowledge of renewable energy technologies including wind turbines, solar inverters, and battery energy storage systems
  • Project management skills and ability to coordinate complex technical processes across multiple stakeholders
