About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Assistant Hotel Manager to lead our breakfast concept at Veriu Macquarie Park, our new flagship property.

This exciting opportunity will see you drive the execution of our unique breakfast offering, leveraging your industry expertise and supplier contacts to establish processes, onboard and train a small team, ensure compliance with food safety standards, and manage daily reporting for consumables, payroll, and expenses.

As the Assistant Hotel Manager, you will be at the forefront of creating an exceptional guest experience from the hotel's opening, working closely with our pre- and post-opening teams, and demonstrating F&B expertise while gaining exposure to rooms operations.

Post the F&B transition, your responsibilities will focus on rooms and require you to execute successful management of hotel presentation, compliance, and daily operations in line with our Veri-Best Framework, proactive recruitment, onboarding, training, development, and management of talented Veriu people, driving engagement with our value-aligned culture to enable the achievement of strategic goals, and embedding the Veriu Group sales philosophy.

This is a hands-on opportunity to drive success from the start and showcase your skills in a dynamic environment. You will work closely with the General Manager to gain exposure to our unique operating model and transition into an rooms-focused position within 6-12 months.

About You

The successful person must have:

  • Approved Australian working rights (Australian Citizenship, Permanent Residency or a Visa with approved working rights).
  • First Aid Certificate (or be able to obtain).
  • Responsible Service of Alcohol Certificate (or be able to obtain).
  • Demonstrated experience leading a team with kindness in order to achieve outcomes.
  • Demonstrated ability to resolve problems/complaints and drive commercial outcomes.
  • High standards of attention to detail and communication skills (written & verbal).
  • Experience managing people in a F&B environment.
  • Passion for personal growth.
