
High-Quality Care Provider for Remote Communities

Key Role:
Community MidwifeWe are seeking a skilled Community Midwife to provide high-quality health services to the Aboriginal people of far western New South Wales.
Main Responsibilities:
- Coordinating and assisting in midwifery treatments and care activities using a patient-centered approach in a general practice clinic setting.
- Providing safe and effective community midwifery services as part of the Child and Family Program within the Maari Ma footprint.
- Mentorship and support for Aboriginal Health Practitioners and trainees with ante natal and post-natal care.
- Clinical midwifery duties including maternity care plans according to best available evidence.
- Collaboration with maternity, medical, obstetric, and paediatric staff for community-based services for Aboriginal women and their babies.
Necessary Qualifications and Skills:
- Current unconditional registration with AHPRA as a Registered Midwife.
- A minimum of 3 years midwifery experience, preferably in a community role.
- Authorization as an immunisation provider in New South Wales.
- Demonstrated understanding and commitment to primary health care principles in relation to maternal and infant health.
- Ability to work with Aboriginal staff and communities respectfully.
