We are seeking a skilled Information Specialist to join our team.

The role involves content development, media liaison, digital platform management and general communications duties.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Preparing, coordinating and disseminating communications to internal and external audiences
  • Reviewing and improving information to key stakeholders and facilitating effective two-way communications
  • Monitoring and updating website content and social media to strengthen Council's capacity in digital communication

To be successful in this role, you will have a degree or diploma in marketing, journalism or communications, or relevant experience and work skills.

Key Responsibilities
  • Content Development: Create engaging content for various channels, including social media, website and newsletters
  • Media Liaison: Develop and maintain relationships with media outlets and respond to media inquiries
  • Digital Platform Management: Monitor and update website content and social media to ensure consistency and accuracy
  • Communications: Prepare and disseminate communications to internal and external audiences
Required Skills and Qualifications

You will need to have excellent stakeholder management skills, a can-do attitude and the ability to work effectively in a team environment. You will also need to have strong written and verbal communication skills, as well as the ability to think creatively and develop innovative solutions.

A degree or diploma in marketing, journalism or communications is preferred, but not essential. What is essential is that you have the skills and knowledge gained through the completion of such a qualification, or relevant experience and work skills.
