Job Description:

This is a strategic role focused on driving technical excellence and market competitiveness within the travel and banking sectors.

The ideal candidate will have strong actuarial or financial expertise, capable of navigating complex underwriting environments and driving growth through effective collaboration and compliance.

This position offers an opportunity to impact our footprint in the travel insurance and banking sectors across Australia and New Zealand.

Responsibilities include overseeing case underwriting to maintain competitiveness, profitability, and compliance, as well as executing remediation activities for the travel portfolio in alignment with our Travel Line of Business (LoB) strategy.

  • Manage case underwriting within Australia, New Zealand, and for global clients.
  • Collaborate with sales teams for client offers, both new and renewals.
  • Ensure proper pricing and support APAC deals requiring higher-level approvals.
  • Lead underwriting for large accounts, particularly in banking.
  • Enable growth and improved profitability through underwriting activities.
  • Assure compliance with underwriting guidelines and monitor portfolio performance.
  • Support planning processes and commercial margin projections.
  • Oversee fulfillment of action points from risk assessments and ensure proper reserves evaluation.
Requirements:

Strong background in actuarial or financial fields, with a minimum of five years experience in portfolio monitoring, underwriting, or insurance. Experience in travel insurance and with banking clients is desirable.
