Work as a Technical Specialist in the maintenance and repair of excavators and drills at an open pit mine. The role involves providing expert technical advice and hands-on coaching to a national workforce, ensuring health, safety, environmental, and community relations standards are met. This is an expatriate position working on a 16/12 day FIFO roster from Australia.

Key Responsibilities
  • Manage safety risks and hazards in your workplace to achieve 100% compliance with safety and environmental requirements.
  • Build relationships for open communication with operations management to maximise production achievements.
  • Work with the Maintenance Team to ensure Safety KPI targets are achieved.
  • Attend regular area Maintenance Meetings to review equipment performance, develop remedial actions, and improvement plans.
  • Provide guidance, direction, and coaching to maintenance personnel, and opportunities for continuous improvement.
  • Ensure long-term departmental targets are understood and achieved.
  • Address technical issues on equipment and perform daily inspections to identify defects prior to failure.
  • Provide resources and estimates needed to plan and schedule defects into Pronto and execute them prior to failure.
  • Consider environmental controls when performing tasks related to inspection, planned/unplanned maintenance events.
  • Provide technical support to Diggers & Drills Supervisors to ensure they understand shift priorities and can direct the team as needed.
About You

To succeed, you will be a trade qualified heavy diesel fitter with 7+ years' experience on large-scale open pit mines. Experience working in developing countries and on Komatsu heavy mobile mining equipment will be highly regarded.

A strong focus on behavioural-based safety is essential, as well as advanced planning, analytical, and problem-solving skills. Communication and cultural awareness are key, with strong interpersonal and relationship-building skills required. An appreciation for operating within a developing country is also necessary.
