Heavy Equipment Technician Role

We are seeking a skilled Heavy Equipment Technician to provide technical support for our fleet of heavy-duty diesel equipment in Tasmania. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring the ongoing operation, maintenance, and repair of our trucks, trailers, forklifts, and other heavy machinery.

Main Responsibilities:

  • Perform routine servicing and inspections on heavy equipment
  • Maintain accurate records of servicing, maintenance, and repairs
  • Carry out repairs as directed and replace parts as needed
  • Respond to equipment breakdowns and provide prompt assistance
  • Communicate effectively with drivers and plant operators to ensure smooth operations
  • Order replacement parts from approved suppliers
  • Maintain company vehicles and mechanical aids
  • Develop and implement maintenance schedules and procedures
  • Identify and record areas for improvement related to products, services, and equipment

Requirements:

  • Certification in a mechanical trade discipline
  • Experience working with heavy-duty diesel equipment
  • Background in a heavy industry transport and equipment setting
