
Maritime Operations Specialist

We are seeking a skilled Maritime Operations Specialist to support our Antarctic and sub-Antarctic maritime operations.
The successful applicant will be responsible for:
- Planning, managing and operationalising in-port activities for our vessels.
- Co-ordinating and/or leading the planning, management and operationalisation of in-port activities for our RSV Nuyina and any other chartered vessels.
- Supporting the finance and procurement processes within the Maritime Operations team.
About Us
We are part of the Commonwealth Department of Climate Change, Energy, the Environment and Water. As the primary agency for Australia's Antarctic Program, we are responsible for achieving the Australian Government's Antarctic goals.
We also have responsibility for administering the Australian Antarctic Territory and the Territory of Heard Island and McDonald Islands.
Our Operations and Logistics Branch oversees our operations in Antarctica - supporting people in our year-round research stations and remote field bases.
About You
To be successful in this role, you will need:
- A relevant qualification/s from an Australian tertiary institution in logistics or logistics business management (preferably maritime related) and/or demonstrated industry experience.
- Australian citizenship.
- Security Clearance - Baseline Vetting.
You will gain an in-depth knowledge of the planning, implementation and at-sea management and support of Antarctic and sub-Antarctic maritime operations.
